Your Tango Master Teacher

Tomás Howlin

Tomás Howlin is the founder and program director of the One to One Tango Intensives, hosting over seven yearly programs with a team of more than twenty teachers divided between two locations: Buenos Aires and Montreal. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, he has been a professional Argentine Tango dancer, performer, and teacher for nearly 35 years, regularly touring the United States and Canada for seminars and special events. His advanced pedagogy and style, combined with his unique ties to the culture that gave rise to the dance, makes him an unparalleled bridge between traditional tango and the newer tendencies.

Your Tango Master Teacher

Leticia Tulissi

Leticia Tulissi lives and works in Buenos Aires, where tango culture has been part of her life since childhood. Trained in ballet from an early age, she found her true voice in tango in 2002, studying with renowned teachers including Julio Balmaceda, Corina de La Rosa, Luciana Valle, Valencia Batiuk, and Dina Martinez.
Over two decades of teaching, Leticia has developed a solid method that balances rigorous technical knowledge with the playful essence of the dance. Her classes emphasize body mechanics, effortless movement, connection, and joy—exploring how to share this dance with your partner without losing yourself.
Since 2015, she has taught throughout Europe and currently teaches at El Motivo Tango School, Universidad Católica Argentina, and Universidad de Belgrano, alongside private lessons.

Casa Hotel

Accommodation

We suggest you stay at La Maleva Tango House, where all our tango classes and social gatherings will take place.

La Maleva is situated in the historic barrio of Almagro and embodies the spirit of a golden age home. Designed in 1924, it was transformed in 2010 into a dedicated tango hotel. It offers a series of common spaces where you can enjoy a quiet moment to yourself, as well as a terrace, its own dance studio, and all the facilities of a modern hotel.

You are welcome to make separate accommodation plans if you wish to.

Do I fly in/out on the day when the trip begins or ends? Do I fly before it starts or the day after it ends?

All activities are optional. On the last day we are planning a community brunch, followed by a live talk on tango culture. We are also considering hosting a community meal in the evening for those who are still around.

Keep in mind that most flights back to North America depart in the late afternoon, and depending on your flight, you may have to leave your hotel room by noon on the day of the departure in order to check in.

Does the hotel have laundry in the premises?

There is not laundry service at La Maleva. However, there are laundry mats nearby.

I am on a restricted diet. Can the hotel accommodate me?

La Maleva is not a hotel, they do not offer meals. You can find nice coffee shops and restaurants just steps away. Also, you can cook your own meal and manage your diet accordingly. We will be offering a community meal and a brunch during the trip; you can surely let us know what you can or want to eat and we will accommodate the menu for those meals.

Do you offer the package a la cart?

No, we do not.  Please understand the package we offer is to pay the teachers, BBQ food, the assistance, the show, the organizer in Argentina, etc.

Which airport I should use?

Both are great. EZE is probably the one you know, international, 50m away from downtown. AEP is in Palermo, domestic with very few international flights.
